A street in downtown Anchorage.

Clouds over the Kenai peninsula

Another shot of the eagle I got close to. I love his expression in this.
This sums it up: ponytail, waders, pink hat, fishing pole - welcome to Alaska.

A female Merganser swimming in the river below where the eagle was perched.

Another scenic highway view

Magpies are fairly common in southern Alaska. They look bigger than the ones I'm used to seeing on the east coast.

A quick fashion shoot to demonstrate what I look like in waders.

One of the many moms we saw fishing in the Russian river.

A beautiful moonrise over the Kasilof river at 330 in the morning. A little mis-exposed, but recall I had no tripod.

A gorgeous scene in the mountains of the Kenai.

A 1955 Packard that was parked on the street where Tony lives.

Mt. Redoubt, probably some 70 miles away with a peak of 10,197 feet.

Another great view of a river and mountains

A shot of the Canadian rockies that I took from the airplane. The mountains are absolutely beautiful.

I like the way the vegetation grows on the mountains, and this one was really well defined.

A storm I took a picture of somewhere over the great plains - probably either Manitoba or North Dakota.

Just another shot of a beautiful scene. These look great as slides, by the way.

This might be my favorite scenic view. We were pulled over at this point, so I had a chance to really set up a composition here, and I think it shows.

That's it! I may add a few more as time passes, but I think this gives you a good idea of what Alaska looked like to us. Highly recommended!
